There are various ways to conserve water and energy and in most cases it starts in the home. With the amount of drinking water required per person decreasing on a daily basis, it is important if not critical that we determine to find ways to conserve water. Energy resources are decreasing at a similar rate. Below is a short list of easy ways to conserve water and energy at home to help conserve these precious resources.
For nearly every minute you leave the faucet running you waste 3 gallons of water. If you turn the water off while brushing your teeth or washing produce you can do your part to conserve the water supply. You might ask yourself, why conserve water? The answer is simple, because we should. This resource is limited and once it is gone, it is gone.
2.Wait for full loads
Whether you are rinsing dishes or doing laundry, waiting for a full load will help save water and energy.
3.Unplug the plug
Unplugging the plugs when appliances are not in use is one of the most efficient ways to conserve water and energy. Most kitchen appliances utilize energy when they are not in use if left plugged in. By unplugging your appliance, such as the microwave or toaster oven, you can save a little money on your electric bill as well as energy.
4.Install low-flow faucets
By installing a low-flow faucet or shower head you can save approximately 3 to 5 gallons of water per minute. This is one of the more cost effective ways to conserve water. So, why conserve water? It is our responsibility as patrons of the world we live in
