Be a Bike Tourist when you Visit New York City
Aug 01
Get Up and Rise is a new venture with a twist to old school bike riding. Designed for around a group of ten, you can join the 4.5 hour bike ride on the ‘classic’ bicycle and tour areas like Brooklyn. You have a friendly and informative tour guide who is a local, and will share all kinds of hidden tips about the people, history and Brooklyn ins and outs. The bike tour itself is leisurely so you can take in the sites, which are typically of the style that are not standard tourist attractions. You will see local culture, art, parks, urban marketplaces and some of the great food Brooklyn in known for. The bikes themselves are retro-style and really quite comfy. You are known as a ‘guest’ and no need to worry about missing anything the guide mentions, because you will hear everything via your own individual walkie-talkie earpiece.

We live in a small beach town and I am going to suggest this to a couple of people that I know. They have lost their jobs, are natives and avid bike riders. This might be a great way for them to get a little business going.
July 29th, 2013 at 10:05 pmI am planning a trip to visit my best friend in the fall. After reading this, I am going to call her and see if we can sign up for the bike tour. Really glad to see this and I don’t think my friend knows about it…so this will be a great opportunity for both of us. New York in the fall should be beautiful and what better way to see it than on a relaxing bike ride.
July 28th, 2013 at 12:15 pmI had heard about this and also that it has become so popular that they can’t keep up with the reservations. Other parts of the country are starting to pick up on this idea and offer their versions of the Get Up and Ride. Fantastic idea that saves on stress, anxiety, expense and pollution while giving you a little exercise at the same time.
